About the Author

Roberto Capocristi is an Italian crime and noir writer based in Turin, Piedmont. Over the course of his career he has published eighteen novels and around fifty short stories, appearing in various anthologies as well as exclusively on this blog. His work moves fluidly between pulp, noir, and hard-boiled fiction, always anchored to a precise sense of place — the Valsusa valley, the alpine resort of Bardonecchia, the streets of Turin, and occasionally imaginary locations that feel just as real. His narratives are populated by morally complex characters operating in ethical grey areas, where the line between justice and crime is rarely straight. He is the creator of an interconnected universe of crime fiction built around recurring characters whose fates are intertwined across multiple novels — a narrative architecture that rewards both new readers and those who follow the series from the beginning. His work has been recognised with several awards, including the Premio Bukowski - Viareggio (2018), the Giallo Festival di Bologna (2019), and the AG Noir Andora (2021).
